Flights of Foundry 2025
SFFH Convention September 26-28

Tis the season! Dream Foundry’s free, virtual convention is back for 2025! Flights of Foundry is one of my favorite conventions to attend. I register for it every year, and I never regret it.
Like last year, I am once again participating on the program. I will be speaking on one panel, moderating two others, and giving a reading. I’d be absolutely delighted if you stopped by any or all of these events. Below is my full schedule, along with panel descriptions:
Friday 9/26
The Added Depth of Speculative Worldbuilding (Panelist)—Hour 2 / 11 AM PDT
A panel discussion on the skill and purpose behind speculative world building to add depth to character and theme, including why the speculative is uniquely suited to this as well as examples from publications.
Author Reading—Hour 4 / 1 PM PDT
It’s me. I’m reading. 😁
Saturday 9/27
Speculative Flash Fiction (Moderator)—Hour 26 / 11 AM PDT
The ins and outs of writing speculative flash fiction--what it is, the skills behind the stories, where to submit, and how to build a career off the format.
Sunday 9/28
Drabbles and Micro Fiction (Moderator)—Hour 50 / 11 AM PDT
A panel on teeny tiny stories with big impact, to include tips and advice on writing, readings of drabbles, and / or maybe even live drabble writing.

The full program for FoF is up now, and the lottery for the limited seating events is open until September 14th. I highly encourage you to come check out the convention, whether you are a writer, an artist, or a fan of SFFH. The community is fantastic, the content is spectacular, and it always makes for a really fun weekend.
If you are able, I also encourage you to donate to Dream Foundry, either directly through their website or as part of your FoF registration. The convention is free to attend, but it is not free to run. Dream Foundry doesn’t just put on FoF. They also offer programming year round, offer Con or Bust scholarships, provide content for professional development, and sponser contests for new and emerging writers and artists. Their work is foundational to the SFFH community, and they are well worth your support.
I hope to see you at the convention!
